On Tuesday, February 13, 2007, I joined a panel of dulcimer players and builders
who were participating in the first online forum hosted by Jeff Hames, 2006 National Mountain Dulcimer Champion. This
was a great opportunity to have an online converstion with dulcimer enthusiasts from across the country.
The forum discussions are usually held on the second
Tuesday of the month from 8:00-9:00 p.m. CST and remain on the website for you to review at any time. This is a
great resource for dulcimer and music information. You can ask questions, post comments or e-mail some of the topic hosts,
even after the forum has been closed. This is a great opportunity for learning whether you are a new player or
have more experience.
Along with Amber Rogers, Jeff has also added a hammered dulcimer forum to his site on the third Tuesday of each month. See details below.
The topic for June is "Modern Music
on a Folk Instrument."
Join us on Tuesday, June 10, 2008,
from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. CST.
A note from Jeff:

from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. CST.
The topics for the hammered dulcimer forum are open for comment and review,
just like the mountain dulcimer forum. The first HD forum was held on May 18 with the topic, "What to Look for in a
HD." Join us each month as the topics change.
From Amber: The June New
/ Young Hammered Dulcimer Players Forum will be held on Tuesday, June 17 at 8:00CT.
This month’s topic is Plucking, Chimes, and Damping, Everything FUN with the hammered
dulcimer. I hope that this forum will be lighthearted and fun. I would like to discuss the interesting things
you do on your dulcimer? What things would you like to try? How can these be used as embellishments? Let’s talk about how these things can change how a song is presented.
Please bring your ideas and suggestions to the forum.
